PENCARROW LIGHTHOUSE FUN RUNS

Are you thinking about entering the next three Capital Multisports events? If you are then check out the Race Packages page to the right of the screen.
This out and back unique and picturesque course from Eastbourne (Burdens Gate) follows the coastal path, passing the historic Pencarrow Lighthouse into Fitzroy Bay and on towards Baring Head where you quickly come to the half marathon turn.
The distances are 5km, 10km, and 21.1km. All distances are open to runners and walkers. If you fancy doing a bit of running and walking then enter as a runner otherwisw a walker is likeley to chew your head off when they see you doing the fast shoe shuffle which passes for a jog!!. The aim of the event is to have fun and enjoy yourselves and we encourage families on the 5km. All the events are out and back so you finish exactly where you started. This is a chance to visit an area that you may only have sailed past or flown over.

21.1km
Entries/Late Entries.
Online entry is available on the "Pencarrow Entry Page". Paper entries will be in sports shops in February. At the bottom of ther Pencarrow Entry page there is an entry form that can be downloaded and printed. We accept phot copies of entry forms.
Late entry fees will apply from a week before race date (2 May 2010). We will accept late entries on the Saturday registratyioon at Petone Workingmen's Club.
Race Refunds.
There will be a $5 administration fee on all refunds given before 2 May 2010. From 3 May 2010 refunds will only be given on production of a Doctors Certificate.
Race Numbers and Registration.
Collect your race numbers between 1pm - 3pm from the Petone Workingmen's Club in Udy Street, Petone. We will be in the Conservatory at the back of the Club.
Race numbers are to be worn on the front and visible at all times.
Eligibility.
5km and 10km are open to all ages. The 21.1 km is open to those who are 16 and over.
Postponements.
We will make all efforts to let the event go ahead, but not at the expense of safety. As event organisers we reserve the right to cancel of postpone the event in the interest of competitor or public safety. If the event hasa to be cancelled through no fault of the organisers then there will be no refunds. Because we will allow the event to go ahead in most conditions bring suitable warm or dry clothing with you.
Safety.
While we are on the subject here are some points for your safety.
- The coastal road is open to other road uswers so please take care.
- Respect other users.
- Obey instructions given by the Police and/or Marshals.
- First Aid will be available at the half turn and the finish.
Water Stations.
There will be water staions at 2.5km, 5km and the half turn.
Times and Medals.
Times will be posted on the web site no later than 2 days after the event. All finishers will receive medals and a certificate.
Prizegiving.
The prizegiving will be at the Petone Workingmen's Club. It will be held no earlier than 1pm. So be there at 1pm or you may miss the start. All entrants are legible to win a spot prize. Bring your race number to the presentation so it can be used to randomly draw the prizes.
Parking and personal kit.
There is parking available in the large car park about one hundred metres before the start. We will not be able to guarentee the safety of any personal kit left at the start/finish line.
Privacy.
We maintain a data base of past entrants which we use to email race dates and information. Some times we have have offers from sponsors which we pass on through email. At no time will we allow a sponsor access to your data. If a sponsor wants to contact you it has to give us the message and we will forward it on in a mass email. The entry forms online and paper allow you to opt out of this. For those who choose not to be retained we will keep your details on a separate data base until the results have been posted. That data base is then deleted. This way you will only receive important information on this race.
