Hutt 5 Bridges Marathon

5 BRIDGES MARATHON AND FUN RUNS

18 JULY 2010

The Five Bridges has five distances to suit everyone 42km, 21km, 10km or 5km for families and for the kids aged 5-11 years we have added a kilometre run. All distances are open to runners and walkers and we would also like to see families out on the 5km course.

The aim of this event is to have fun and enjoy yourselves on  an off road course that has a good flat running surface, no traffic and a nice river to run alongside.

All finishers get a medal and a certificate

Marathon. Run Start 8:00 am Walk Start 7:00 am

The Marathon or 42.2 km leaves Udy Road outside the Petone Workingmens Club  and picks up the Hutt River trail. Down to the Estuary Bridge, cross to the East side of the river and then go up to Moonshine turn and come back the same way. This way we miss the busy Melling Bridge and Block Road. The running surface is good, as competitors run off road following the winding river. This event is open to runners and walkers over the age of 18 years. Everybody that completes the marathon will be given a certificate.

 Half Marathon.  Start 8:30 am
The half marathon starts 30 minutes after the marathon and follows the same course but turns earlier.

 10 km. Start 8:40 am
The 10km starts 40 minutes after the Marathon and follows the same course. It will turn at 5km which is near to the back of Hutt High School.

5km. Start 8:50am
The 5km is nice and easy ideal for families who want to walk it or jog with the youngsters. If you want to run the 5km then go for it. Again this is an out and back course and will turn at 2.5km which is just passed the Estuary Bridge.

The Kids Kilometre Start 9 am
The junior kilometre will be around the park opposite the Club premises.
